Erin O’Shaughnessy, MScN, NP-PHC

The Role of Virtual Care: When, Where and Practical Issues

Erin is a nurse practitioner with over four decades of experience in a variety of healthcare settings,

including over 30 years of experience in pediatrics. She holds an undergraduate nursing degree from the

University of Manitoba and a master’s degree from York University. She completed her primary care NP

diploma at the University of Ottawa in 2014.


Erin has extensive experience in clinical education and research. She is a guest lecturer for the Ontario

Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program, based out of the University of Ottawa.


Erin began working remotely in 2017, long before virtual approaches to patient care became popular.

She currently provides acute episodic/primary care via Lyte Medical, a leading Canadian virtual care clinic.


Erin is fluently bilingual (English/French). She lives in the Ottawa Valley with her husband and three (very spoiled) dogs.
